Falcons OT Sam Baker out for season with knee injury
Sam Baker ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee and will miss the 2014 season. He suffered the same injury to his left knee last season.

Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Sam Baker was carted off the field after injuring his right knee in a preseason game against the Houston Texans. The initial word is that it isn't as bad as it looked -- Vaughn McClure of ESPN reports it may be a hyperextension.
Baker played in just four games last year due to a left knee injury, eventually being shelved on the IR in November. He did not injure his surgically repaired knee on Saturday, with doctors instead looking at his right knee.
Baker went down in the second quarter and immediately grabbed the knee. Judging by his reactions, he seemed to think the injury was serious.
#Falcons LT Sam Baker is emotional. He knows something is wrong.
— D. Orlando Ledbetter (@DOrlandoAJC) August 17, 2014 Third-year pro Lamar Holmes has filled in for Baker at left tackle. If Baker's injury is serious, it could force rookie first-round pick Jake Matthews back to his natural position on the left side. Matthews has been working at right tackle.
