Le’Veon Bell, LeGarrette Blount charged with marijuana possession, per report

The Steelers’ top two running backs were reportedly arrested together on Wednesday afternoon.

Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were each charged with marijuana possession after their vehicle was stopped in Ross Township, Pa., on Wednesday afternoon, according to Colin Dunlap of CBS Pittsburgh. Bell has reportedly been charged with a DUI, as well.

Dunlap reports that 20 grams of marijuana was found in the black Camaro driven by Bell. The pair of running backs -- as well as an unidentified female passenger -- were allegedly “uncooperative.”

Bell and Blount have been booked and released from jail, according to Bill Rehkopf of KDKA.

Blount arrived in Pittsburgh as a free agent after a successful late-season surge in New England and is expected to create a dynamic one-two punch with Bell, the Steelers’ 2013 second-round draft pick. Bell is scheduled to resume his role as starter, with Blount providing relief and short-yardage work.

Both players could face league discipline, but NFL policy requires the legal process be resolved first. Barring the Steelers taking matters into their own hands, it could be months before the pair is suspended, if that happens at all.
