Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was given X-rays on his thumb after leaving Thursday's contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Geoff Mosher of Comcast Sports Net. Eagles RB LeSean McCoy sustains sprained thumb
Philadelphia’s biggest weapon injured his thumb after scoring the game’s first points.
McCoy looked very sharp while on the field, carrying the ball four times for 24 yards and adding a 22-yard touchdown reception on a perfectly executed screen. The touchdown was McCoy’s last play before walking off the field and into the tunnel with a trainer before getting X-rays.
Any type of serious injury to McCoy would have been a huge blow to the Eagles. The man better known as "Shady" ran for 1,607 yards and nine touchdowns in 2013, finishing first in the race for the rushing title, beating out Matt Forte and Jamaal Charles, who finished second and third. McCoy also was a force in the passing game, hauling in 52 passes for 539 yards and a pair of scores.
