Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin went down on the turf in the second quarter of Thursday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers holding his knee in obvious pain. Fortunately, Maclin was able to return to the field on the following offensive series.
Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin goes down with knee injury; returns to game
Philadelphia apparently averted a major scare with Jeremy Maclin.
Maclin was running a route on the play and was not contacted before his leg gave way. Maclin went to the ground and immediately fell to the ground before holding his knee.
However, Maclin was able to walk off the field under his own power and was smiling on the sideline after the injury. For the Eagles, the injury has to be concerning after Maclin missed all of the 2013 season with a torn ACL.
Before tearing up his knee in training camp last season, Maclin never suffered any serious injuries. The former University of Missouri receiver has never registered an 1,000-yard season but has been a solid second receiver throughout his career.
