Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon was due to appear in Wake County court Tuesday on charges of driving while intoxicated, but the hearing was rescheduled for November, according to the Associated Press. Gordon had a waiver to miss the pretrial appearance, according to the report, and the new date is set for Nov. 18.
Josh Gordon’s DWI case postponed to November
Browns receiver Josh Gordon’s DWI hearing has been postponed to November 18. He is still waiting on word from the NFL on his appeal of a one-year suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy.

The hearing is in reference to a July 5 arrest in Raleigh, N.C. Gordon was arrested after being stopped for going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. This is just one of his off-the-field issues at the moment, as Gordon is still waiting to hear from the NFL regarding his appeal of a one-year suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse program.
It’s unclear if his initial arrest has any bearing on the appeal. If he does end up serving a one-year suspension then he’ll be able to take care of this hearing and let the legal process play its course while inactive. There’s been no real indication as to which way the league is leaning with his appeal, or when a decision will come down.
