Chiefs vs. Broncos 2014: Time, TV schedule, radio and how to watch online
Peyton Manning and company look to deal the Chiefs another loss in this AFC West clash.

Denver is coming off a win over the Indianapolis Colts, 31-24. Tight end Julius Thomas starred, scoring three touchdowns while Peyton Manning had an average night by his standards, completing 22-of-36 passes for 269 yards. The defense was a tad concerning (especially in the second half), allowing 408 total yards including 370 through the air to Andrew Luck.
The Chiefs are hoping to bounce back after a rough 26-10 loss against the Tennessee Titans. Alex Smith threw three interceptions in the defeat and was handicapped by Andy Reid's gameplan, which called for 39 passes against only 17 runs. Smith was sacked four times behind an offensive line that saw right tackle Jeff Allen leave with an elbow injury in the first half. The defense also struggled, allowing Jake Locker to throw for 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Nuts and Bolts
This game features the highest line of the young season, with OddsShark showing the Broncos as 14-point favorites. The Chiefs only gave Jamaal Charles 11 touches over the course of the entire game while Kansas City took to the air with reckless abandon, despite Dwayne Bowe being out due to suspension. The result was Donnie Avery being targeted 13 times, with three of those targets ending in interceptions.
Even more importantly, the Chiefs suffered two season-ending injuries on defense. All-Pro inside linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive end Mike DeVito both sustained Achilles tears. To replace DeVito, Kansas City signed Kevin Vickerson, who was cut by the Broncos at the end of training camp after playing as a starter for most of last season.
