The Arizona Cardinals will be without their starting quarterback in Week 2, as Carson Palmer will be sidelined with a shoulder injury suffered in Week 1, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Starting in Palmer's place will be former Lions and Colts quarterback Drew Stanton.
Carson Palmer injury: Cardinals QB out vs. Giants
Palmer didn’t appear to suffer an injury during the team’s Week 1 victory against the Chargers.

Palmer, 34, played all of Week 1 and didn't show any signs of injury during an 18-17 victory over the San Diego Chargers, but participated on a limited basis in practice all week. In Week 1, Palmer completed 24-of-37 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns.
Stanton, 30, signed a three-year, $8.2 million contract with the Cardinals in March 2013, making him one of the more highly-paid backup quarterbacks in the NFL, but did not play at all in his first season with the team. He hasn’t taken a regular season snap since 2010 when he started three games for the Lions and finished the year with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
The Cardinals will kickoff against the Giants at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
