San Jose Police confirmed Thursday that the domestic abuse arrest that landed San Francisco 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald on the NFL's trouble list was not the first time police had been called to his residence.
Ray McDonald involved in previous domestic dispute, police say
Police were called to McDonald’s residence for a domestic incident three months before his felony assault arrest, according to a recently released incident report.

In response to media requests, police released an incident report stemming from a May 25 domestic argument involving a handgun, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.
Here are excerpts from that report:
An engaged couple (a male and female subject) were in an argument when the female subject became upset, grabbed a firearm (handgun) registered to the male subject, and held it at her side.
When the male subject informed the female subject that he was going to call 911, the female subject put the firearm away and fled without incident. The female subject did not make any threats or point the firearm at the male subject. Both subjects have been identified and were contacted.
No arrests or criminal charges were filed after the incident.
The two subjects were not identified by name, but the address listed is the same one that McDonald allegedly assaulted his fiancee at three months later on Aug. 31.
