Department of Defense looking into relationship with NFL
The U.S. military is wary of being associated with the league amidst domestic abuse controversies.

“The secretary wants to fully understand that relationship, in case he decides to make some changes to it,” a senior defense official told CNN.
The military, which is linked to the league through advertising and the frequent presence of military personal on NFL sidelines and ceremonies, is wary of its association with the league following the recent rash of domestic violence controversies. The Army alone spends $10 million on advertising during NFL broadcasts, CNN reports.
The Army and the NFL also have an agreement to share information on traumatic brain injuries.
The White House has also been critical of the league’s domestic violence issues. A senior administrator told CNN that the league needs to “(get) control of the situation” because its players are looked up to as role models by much of America’s youth.
