Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown has an injury to his throwing hand which could force him to miss "several weeks," according to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports.
Josh McCown could miss ‘several weeks’ with thumb injury, per report
Josh McCown’s hand injury could be more serious than initially thought.

McCown injured his right thumb against the NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football and had to leave the game. He had an MRI on Friday and will undergo further testing, according to Marvez. An earlier report suggested that he might miss only "a game or two," per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
It was already suspected that McCown would be unlikely to play in the team's Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Head coach Lovie Smith has already confirmed that McCown is the starter when he's healthy, but if the reports are accurate, he won't be there in time, giving Mike Glennon an opportunity.
McCown has completed 43 of 68 passes for 420 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions in three games this season. Glennon, taking over during the brutal 56-14 loss to the Falcons, completed 17 of 24 passes for one touchdown and an interception. He was efficient and solid, but it was far too late for him to lead a comeback.
The Buccaneers have a bye in Week 7, which could benefit them if McCown does indeed need to miss “several weeks.”
