Washington vs. Eagles 2014: Time, TV schedule, radio and how to watch online

Philadelphia looks to continue its winning ways against an NFC East counterpart.

Andy Lyons

The Philadelphia Eagles will play host to Washington on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field, aiming for a 3-0 mark. The NFC East matchup should be an interesting one and could help clear the early-season landscape in the division. The Eagles appear to be the class of the division, but not by a wide margin. Washington pulling the road upset would surely make things a little more interesting.

Philadelphia is coming off two consecutive comeback victories, first over the Jacksonville Jaguars and then against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to trail by 14 or more points in each of their first two contests before rallying to win both. After winning the NFC East last season under head coach Chip Kelly, they lead the division in 2014 and can extend that margin with a win on Sunday.

Washington enters with injury concerns all over, chief among them being Robert Griffin III. Griffin went down hard without contact in the first quarter of Washington's 41-10 win over Jacksonville before being carted off with an aircast on his left leg. The diagnosis is a dislocated ankle, with the timetable for his return unclear. DeSean Jackson also exited in the first half with a shoulder injury, but believes he could be ready to play against Philadelphia. Washington could take control of first place in the East with a win.

Nuts and Bolts

Philadelphia has and will continue to lean heavily on its offense. Nick Foles began brutally against the Jaguars, throwing an interception and fumbling three times in the first half. Foles has rallied since, throwing for over 300 yards in both games this season. The rushing game is led by LeSean McCoy. The Pro Bowl back is still searching for his first 100-yard game in 2014, having amassed 74 and 79 yards respectively. Darren Sproles is coming off a massive game against the Colts, where he caught seven passes for 152 yards and ran for a touchdown.

Washington is riding high after Cousins came into the fray for Griffin and performed admirably. Cousins, a fourth round pick in 2012, showed why he has the potential to be an NFL starter. The former Michigan State star connected on 22-of-33 for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Washington's Week 2 rout. The defense stepped up and sacked Chad Henne 10 times, including four by Ryan Kerrigan. Overall, Washington outgained Jacksonville, 449-148.
