How to watch Chargers vs. Bills 2014 online, TV schedule, radio and more

Buffalo is one of the big early surprises while San Diego is coming off a major upset.

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills are undefeated and now put their perfect record to the test against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday afternoon at Ralph Wilson Stadium. While the matchup may not have received much attention during the offseason, it looks much better now with both the Chargers and Bills off to good starts to the season.

After pulling off a 23-20 overtime win at Chicago over the Bears in Week 1, the Bills crushed the Miami Dolphins in their home opener, 29-10. Buffalo enjoyed a raucous crowd following the news earlier in the week that the team would stay in town after being bought by Terry Pegula. The Bills are all alone atop the AFC East and could extend the lead with a win over San Diego.

The Chargers dropped their season-opener against the Arizona Cardinals, blowing an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter. San Diego recovered in Week 2 despite being home underdogs, beating the Seattle Seahawks 30-21. Seattle's vaunted Legion of Boom was shredded by Philip Rivers, who tossed three touchdowns while going after both Byron Maxwell and Richard Sherman. The only bad news was running back Ryan Mathews spraining his MCL, which will force him out of action for a month.

Nuts and Bolts

San Diego needs to get off to a good start this season with a brutal stretch coming in late November and December. In their final five games, the Chargers travel to San Francisco, Baltimore and Kansas City while hosting the Patriots and Broncos. Without Mathews until at least mid-October, free-agent acquisition Donald Brown will have to step up along with Danny Woodhead to carry the load.

Buffalo is riding young talent to its hot start, most notably C.J. Spiller and Sammy Watkins. Spiller was a difference maker Miami last week, returning a third-quarter kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown while rushing for 69 yards. Watkins had a fine afternoon, leading all receivers with 117 yards on eight catches with a touchdown. Defensively, Buffalo has racked up six sacks, including four against the Dolphins.
