Few expected the Indianapolis Colts' Week 3 tilt with perennial division dweller Jacksonville to hold much intrigue, but after defensive plays and play calling missteps led to an 0-2 start, suddenly this game appears a must win for the young Colts. Already two games back in the division, Indianapolis has to take care of business.
Colts vs. Jaguars 2014: Time, TV schedule, radio and how to watch online
At least one winless team will pick up a win this week, probably.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, have performed better than expected. While their record also stands at 0-2, they nearly upset the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. Rookie receiver Allen Hurns went off for 110 yards and two scores. Just as importantly, quarterback Chad Henne has played capably, staving off top pick Blake Bortles for the next several weeks at least.
For Jacksonville, a win would signal a major step toward respectability for a moribund franchise. The Colts, meanwhile, would be thrown into full-fledged panic.

Nuts and bolts
The Colts have struggled to find their footing under offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton. The former Stanford assistant coach has refused to abandon a power running approach that prevented an Indianapolis comeback against the Denver Broncos and allowed the Eagles to battle back last Monday night. Quarterback Andrew Luck has already thrown three interceptions, offsetting them with only five touchdowns. If that ratio continues, the Colts will be out of the playoff hunt before the halfway point of the regular season.
The Jaguars' only aspiration for 2014 is to establish themselves as competitive. The roster, composed primarily of young, inexperienced players like Luke Joeckel and Marqise Lee with room to grow, need to use the season to develop into consistent performers. The final outcome won't likely affect their fortunes, but a strong showing could aid the team's morale and hopes for a brighter future.
