This Sunday, football fans will get to see Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and likely multiple Tuck Rule game highlights as the Patriots (1-1) take on the visiting Oakland Raiders (0-2). Oakland comes off back-to-back games where the offense produced only 14 points. The defense, which showed some signs of life during the Week 1 defeat to the New York Jets, allowed the Houston Texans to explode for 30 points last Sunday.

The Patriots, a perennial Super Bowl contender, have endured their own troubles. Brady's issues with downfield inaccuracy have persisted despite the return of top pass catcher Rob Gronkowski. New England's defense, too, has performed erratically. In the season opener, Ryan Tannehill and the fledgling Miami Dolphins offense generated 33 points, over two-thirds of which came in the second half.
For Oakland, defeating the Patriots would take considerable pressure off Dennis Allen, a head coach firmly on the hot seat. New England is simply looking to take care of business and move on to next week.

Nuts and bolts
The Patriots have been unpredictable when it comes to their ground game. Against the Dolphins, nearly half of the running back carries went to Shane Vereen, who led the team with 36 yards rushed. A week later against the Minnesota Vikings, Belichick heavily favored Stevan Ridley, who picked up 101 yards on 25 carries. Either could lead the team in rushing against Oakland.
The Raiders made the potential franchise altering decision to open the year with rookie quarterback Derek Carr under center. In his two starts, offensive coordinator Greg Olson has manufactured easy throws to ease his young signal caller into the NFL game. Accordingly, Carr has completed 63.5 percent of his passes. Yet due to the conservative approach, he's only thrown three touchdowns and 414 total passing yards.

The Patriots are 14½-point favorites at home against New England, with an over/under of 46½, per Odds Shark.
