Jamaal Charles will not play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, as an ankle injury will keep the running back on the sidelines in Week 3.
Jamaal Charles ruled out vs. Dolphins
Knile Davis is expected to handle the load at running back for the Chiefs.

Charles, 27, limped to the locker room in Week 2 after suffering an ankle sprain early in the game against the Denver Broncos. He did not return to the Kansas City lineup, finishing the day with just four yards rushing and eight yards receiving. Charles sat out practice on Wednesday, but participated on a limited basis on Thursday and Friday and was listed as questionable.
With Charles sidelined, the Chiefs will instead have to turn to Knile Davis to pick up the slack for the team just as he did in Week 2. In relief of Charles, Davis finished with 79 yards rushing against the Broncos, including two touchdowns, as well as six receptions.
Charles has earned trips to the Pro Bowl in three of the last four seasons and has eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing in four of the last five seasons. He led the NFL in total touchdowns in 2013 with 19, tallying 12 rushing and seven receiving scores.
