NFL news: Jamaal Charles expected to play, Arian Foster a game-time decision
Charles is reportedly making a quick recovery from his ankle sprain, but Foster continues to be bothered by a hamstring.

The beleaguered Chiefs got some good news on the injury front Thursday: coach Andy Reid said he expects Charles to take the field Monday night against New England Patriots.
Charles, who sat out last week after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 2, saw expanded work at practice on Thursday. Keep in mind, we also saw him on the practice field twice last week, but he sat out the Chiefs' win over the Miami Dolphins.
More good news for the Chiefs: electric rookie De'Anthony Thomas returned to practice on Thursday and could be in line to make his anticipated NFL debut.
"Good chance" Mike Glennon starts for Bucs
Glennon went from full-time starter to riding the bench when Josh McCown showed up in Tampa this offseason, but the second-year pro looks like he'll get his shot to get back on the field. A thumb injury is threatening to sideline McCown for several weeks, and Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith told Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times there is a "good chance" that Glennon will get the nod against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Glennon put up solid numbers as a rookie starter in 2013 (19 touchdowns, nine picks) and went 17-of-24 for 121 yards and a touchdown off the bench in that Thursday night debacle against the Atlanta Falcons.
Arian Foster a game-time decision
Once again, we won't know the status of Foster until just before kickoff. Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien suggested the running back will be a game-time decision heading into Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.
Foster was a game-time decision last week as well, but ended up missing that game with a hamstring injury. He’s currently day-to-day and was limited in practice on Thursday.
Demaryius Thomas's drops have him down
Thomas keeps dropping the ball in Denver, and he can’t figure out why.
"I had the most drops in these first three games that I've had my entire career," said the Broncos wideout, who has let four passes bounce off his hands this season. "I don't know what it is. I don't know if I'm thinking too much."
Three weeks in, and Thomas has yet to go over 62 yards receiving in a game and only has one touchdown reception. Last season, he was one of Peyton Manning’s most reliable targets, hauling in 68.2 percent of passes thrown his way, according to Pro Football Focus. This season, he’s brought down just 13 of his 27 targets.
“I know I ain’t playing at my highest potential right now. And I do get down on myself,” Thomas told Mark Kiszla of The Denver Post.
The Broncos’ bye week will give him some extra time to figure out what’s wrong.
Eric Decker back at practice
Thomas' old running mate returned to the practice field for the New York Jets on Thursday, according to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com. The former Bronco participated in positional drills, a cause for optimism among those hoping he'll play through a hamstring injury against the Detroit Lions this weekend.
Decker attempted to return against the Chicago Bears on Monday night but was unable to finish the game.
