The Buffalo Bills (2-1) and Houston Texans (2-1) both surprised with 2-0 starts to the season, but both crashed back to earth with double-digit losses in Week 3. They face off on Sunday afternoon in Houston with hopes to earn a third win in four games and solidify their playoff hopes.

Ryan Fitzpatrick leads the Texans against his former team on Sunday afternoon.

The Bills trailed for only five minutes in their first two games, but were forced to play from behind from the start against the Chargers in Week 3. Unfortunately, they couldn't rally for the win. Buffalo failed to get its running game going in San Diego, as Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller combined for just 59 yards on 16 carries, forcing EJ Manuel to throw the ball 39 times -- never a good thing.
The Texans fell on the road to the New York Giants in a 30-17 loss. They were able to move the chains despite missing star running back Arian Foster, but three turnovers and a pitiful 2-for-12 third down conversation rate kept them from matching the Giants offense in the end. In the fourth quarter, the Texans offense, defense and special teams all contributed to the loss: Fitzpatrick threw another late interception, the Giants blocked a punt, and New York put in 13 points in the final 15 minutes.

Nuts and Bolts
The Bills pulled off a shocking upset of the Bears on the road in Week 1, but don't expect a repeat performance on Sunday in Houston. Buffalo hasn't won consecutive road games since 2009 and its 8-25 record away from home over the last five seasons is the third-worst in the league. EJ Manuel is 2-4 as a starter on the road, and has been sacked 25 times with seven interceptions in those six games.
Ryan Fitzpatrick spent four seasons with the Bills (2009-12) and faces his former team for the first time on Sunday. Playing without Foster, Fitzpatrick's flaws as a passer were exposed against the Giants. He threw three interceptions after having none in the first two games, and was under heavy pressure all game. Foster is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, and if he can't go on Sunday against the Bills, it could be a long afternoon for Texans fans.
