Panthers vs. Ravens 2014 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online

Steve Smith faces his former team this week when the Ravens host the Panthers on Sunday.

Larry French

The Carolina Panthers (2-1) hope to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season in Week 3. They travel to Baltimore to face a Ravens (2-1) team that is going for its third straight win. It's a 1:00 p.m. start time in Charm City. You can catch the game on CBS.

The Panthers were embarrassed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 37-19 loss on Sunday night. Their vaunted defensive front seven was shredded for 264 rushing yards, and for the first time since 2001 allowed two backs to rush for at least 100 yards in the same game. Carolina's offensive line wasn't much better, struggling to protect Cam Newton, who was sacked three times and hit at least six more by the Steelers' relentless pressure up the middle.

The Ravens continue to take PR hits off the field, yet their performance hasn't suffered in the slightest. Baltimore won its second straight game on Sunday, rallying for a 23-21 win over the Cleveland Browns. Joe Flacco executed the two-minute drill to perfection, driving the Ravens down field to set up the game-winning 32-yard field goal by Justin Tucker as time expired. Flacco now has 10 fourth-quarter comebacks over the last five seasons, a number surpassed by only Tony Romo (12) and Matt Ryan (14).

Nuts and Bolts

Emotions will be running high on Sunday when Steve Smith takes the field in a Ravens uniform against his former team. The Panthers released the franchise's all-time receiving leader in March, and Smith is eager to show his former employer that he is still productive at age 35. Smith leads the Ravens in receiving yards (290) and catches (18), but has found the end zone just once in three games.

The Ravens will try to take advantage of a Panthers rush-defense that was manhandled by the Steelers on Sunday. Pittsburgh repeatedly ran the ball right into the gut of Carolina's defensive line -- 244 of its 264 yards came inside the tackles -- and the Panthers couldn't hold their ground at the point of attack. Justin Forsett has the power and elusiveness to cause problems for Carolina. Forsett leads the NFL with 6.3 yards per rush and already has three runs over 20 yards through the first three games of the season.
