Jared Allen will miss Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers due to pneumonia. The Chicago Bears pass rusher has reportedly lost 33 pounds as a result of the illness, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, and reportedly still wanted to suit up for the major NFC North matchup.
Jared Allen lost 33 pounds from pneumonia, out Sunday vs. Packers
Jared Allen will sit out Sunday with a nasty bout of pneumonia.

The Packers-Bears meeting is one of the more highly-anticipated matchups of the Week 4 slate. There is a long-spanning rivalry between the two teams and the outcome will have significant division ramifications, but it was also billed as a duel between Allen and Packers pass rusher Julius Peppers. Both players were key offseason signings by both teams. Peppers moved from the Bears to the Packers, and to fill his role the Bears signed Allen away from the Vikings.
Allen has been quiet through three games. He has yet to record a sack on the season, and has registered just three quarterback pressures. So far, Peppers looks like the better pass rushing upgrade between the two teams, with a sack and 11 quarterback pressures so far this season.
