Derek Carr suffers knee injury, questionable to return vs. Dolphins
Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr has been sideline in London with a knee injury.
Carr suffered the injury to his left knee during the third quarter of Sunday’s game in London with the Raiders staring at a 31-point deficit. He briefly tried to play on the injury, but appeared to be in considerable pain. He struggled before leaving the game, going 16-for-26 passing for 146 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Carr beat out McGloin, a rookie out of Penn State last season, for the Raiders’ starting job before the season officially began. McGloin appeared in seven games for Oakland last season, and completed 55.9 percent of his passes for 1,547 yards at 7.33 yards per attempt. He had eight touchdowns to eight interceptions.
Carr has played well this season, give his youth and the Raiders’ bounty of problems elsewhere on the team. He had been completing 63 percent of his passes at 5.44 yards per attempt for 588 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions prior to Sunday’s game.
