Teddy Bridgewater expected to start for Vikings vs. Packers
The Vikes got good news when an MRI cleared their starting quarterback for the short week ahead.

Mike Zimmer optimistic Teddy Bridgewater will start Thursday in Green Bay. MRI came back clean.
— Around The NFL (@AroundTheNFL) September 29, 2014 Bridgewater was impressive during his first-ever NFL start in the Vikings surprise win on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. He threw for 317 yards and rushed for a touchdown in an unexpected 41-28 upset over Atlanta, but limped off in the fourth quarter after a gang of Falcons tacklers caused his left ankle to bend at an awkward angle.
Bridgewater was held out for precautionary reasons as the Vikings coasted to the finish line with Christian Ponder under center, but head coach Mike Zimmer said after the game he didn’t know if the rookie would have been able to re-enter had he been needed.
Bridgewater was starting in place of Matt Cassel, who is lost for the season with a fractured bones in his foot. Bridgewater and Ponder are the only quarterbacks on the team's active roster. The Vikings signed Chandler Harnish to the practice squad on Monday, where he joins McLeod Bethel-Thompson.
