Despite Josh McCown missing time with a thumb injury and Mike Glennon's late-game heroics that sealed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' first win of the season, head coach Lovie Smith isn't racing to name a starting quarterback.

The Buccaneers’ head coach declined to name a starting quarterback.

According to JoeBucsFan.com, Smith punted on questions regarding whether Glennon had earned the right to start.
“You’re asking me to name our starting quarterback right now?” Lovie responded.
Lovie went on to say he sees who’s available at every position and makes decisions appropriately.
While Smith declined to say it, Glennon will be under center when the Buccaneers take the field Oct. 5 in New Orleans. However, it is curious that the coach distanced himself from such an obvious decision that could reinvigorate the moribund Tampa Bay franchise.
Glennon started 13 games for the Buccaneers in 2013, but when Smith was hired as Tampa's new head coach during the offseason, he brought in the veteran McCown. Smith was the head coach of the Chicago Bears during McCown's first two seasons with the team.
