Tyler Eifert injured his elbow, and it wasn’t pretty

Looks like Tyler Eifert just dislocated his elbow. Elbow looked inverted. Caught it on a stick route as part of a packaged play.
— Bill Barnwell (@billbarnwell) September 7, 2014 Eifert's status for the rest of the game (and beyond) is unclear, but he had to be tended to by trainers on the field. He had been on his way to a monster outing, with three receptions for 37 yards in the first quarter. The Bengals could target Jermaine Gresham more as a result, so the offense should continue to run smoothly.
Eifert has dealt with nagging shoulder issues throughout the offseason and expressed frustration at a slow recovery process in mid-August. That said, he certainly didn’t seem to be having any issues to start Sunday’s game.
The Bengals aren’t wont for big targets. Along with Gresham, they have A.J. Green, one of the league’s best and most physically gifted wideouts. Cincinnati fans had big expectations for Eifert after he was drafted in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, however.
Eifert had 39 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns last season. His season-high of 66 yards came in Week 2. Suffice it to say, he was expected to do bigger things this season. This elbow injury could put a temporary hold on things.
