You don't have to tell the Arizona Cardinals about the importance of every game. The Birds stacked up a 10-6 record last year, but fell one win short of the playoffs in the loaded NFC West -- you know they'll be taking their Monday Night Football matchup against the San Diego Chargers seriously.
Chargers vs. Cardinals: Time, TV schedule, online streaming, radio and more
The Cardinals just missed the playoffs last season. They’re hoping to get off on the right foot at home against the Chargers on MNF.

The Chargers fought through their own brutal division last year to eke out a wild card berth with a 9-7 mark, then won their first playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals before getting dropped by Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
Both teams look to start a run to the 2014 playoffs when they meet Monday night in Arizona.

More on the matchup
The season hasn't even started yet and the Cardinals are dealing with significant injury problems. They lost Pro Bowl defensive lineman Darnell Dockett to a torn ACL during training camp and are hoping veteran Frostee Rucker and rookie Kareem Martin can fill the void. They also may be down a running back -- starter Andre Ellington, who was expected to become the feature back in his second year, aggravated a foot injury this week and could miss significant time.
That's good news for an already stout San Diego defense that gave up the second-fewest yards per carry in 2013. The Chargers are dealing with a significant injury of their own on the defensive front, though -- starting nose tackle Kwame Geathers is on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury during preseason play.
