The NFL and its players’ union are taking another shot at hammering out a new drug policy for the 2014 season. Representatives from the NFL Players Association are traveling to New York City to meet with league officials on Monday, according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
NFL, players union meeting over new drug policy
NFLPA reps are on their way to New York City on Monday to renew negotiations with the league.

In-person meetings represent intensified negotiations, a good sign after Pro Football Talk reported on Sunday that the two sides were moving apart.
Breer reports that the largest obstacle to a deal continues to be the DUI policy. The NFL is pushing for a new policy that could punish a player arrested for driving under the influence without having to wait for the legal process to play out, something the NFLPA has refused.
The most immediate on-field effect of a ratified drug policy could come in the form of lifted suspensions for players like Josh Gordon and Wes Welker. Rumors have floated that players being punished under the current policy could have their bans retroactively lifted. However, a source told The Washington Post last week that a deal needed to be struck before Sunday's slate of games for that to happen.
Other key features of the prospective new policy include HGH testing and modified neutral arbitration.
