2015 NFL playoffs schedule and bracket: Seahawks advance to NFC Championship
The Seattle Seahawks advanced to their second consecutive NFC Championship game with a win over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday.
The first half of the Divisional round games are in the books, as the No. 1 seed Seattle Seahawks took down the No. 4 seed Carolina Panthers in the NFC on Saturday by the score of 31-17.
Seattle, enjoying its home-field advantage and coming off a week of rest while the Panthers played in the Wild Card round, was heavily favored to take this game. Carolina, though they were the No. 4 seed, had the worst regular season record among playoff teams.
NFC playoffs
The Panthers finished the regular season at 7-8-1, but the NFC South was such a poor group this season that they managed to secure the division title by beating the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. It was a strong run, as the Panthers won the last four games of the regular season and then took down the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card round, but Seattle was more rested and was the better team.
Seattle is now locked into its second consecutive NFC Championship game, and they'll be playing either the Dallas Cowboys or the Green Bay Packers, who play their Divisional game on Sunday. The New England Patriots recovered from two separate 14-point deficits to eventually best the Baltimore Ravens in the first AFC Divisional game on Saturday.
