Rolando McClain left Sunday's playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys to undergo a concussion evaluation, according to Clarence Hill of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram. McClain sat out practice during the week with concussion symptoms, but passed concussion protocol and was able to return to practice Friday.
Rolando McClain taken to locker room for concussion evaluation vs. Packers
The Cowboys may have suffered a significant loss early when linebacker Rolando McClain went to the locker room for a concussion evaluation.
McClain's loss would be a big blow for a Cowboys' defense that is already struggling to stop the run early during Sunday's Divisional round matchup. Running back Eddie Lacy already has 45 yards rushing on seven carries nearing the end of the first quarter.
McClain has been one of the Cowboys’ most pleasant surprises this season, filling in at inside linebacker in place of Sean Lee. McClain racked up 65 total tackles in 13 games during the regular season.
There is no word yet on McClain's potential return. Should he sit out significant game action, the Cowboys could move Anthony Hitchens inside and give Dekoda Watson more snaps at outside linebacker.
