The odds for Super Bowl XLIX went live late Sunday night with the defending champion Seattle Seahawks opening as 2-point favorites over the New England Patriots. The matchup was set when the Patriots decimated the Indianapolis Colts just hours after the Seahawks’ improbable comeback over the Green Bay Packers. The line often shifts within the first 24 hours, and already there’s been some movement one day later.

The line has moved slightly toward the Patriots, but the Seahawks are still 1-point favorites, according to OddsShark. That’s not unexpected considering the public tends to bet on big-name quarterbacks like the Patriots’ Tom Brady. The Seahawks hold a 2-1 lead over the Patriots against the spread.
The over/under has remained steady at 48.5. The Seahawks and Patriots have gone over in each of their last three meetings. New England scored 45 points in the AFC Championship while Seattle put up 28 points in the NFC Championship.
Super Bowl XLIX will be played on Feb. 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. NBC will broadcast the event.
