Super Bowl 2015: Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski reunite to help kill 6 hours before kickoff

Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski team up once again to bolster NBC’s sports coverage.

Lauren Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Killing time before the Super Bowl just got a little bit easier, as the tandem of Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski have officially been added to NBC's pregame show for the biggest football game of the year. NBC controls the broadcast rights for Super Bowl XLIX and will begin a six-hour pregame show starting at noon ET.

Lipinski and Weir both competed as Olympic figure skaters for the United States before endearing themselves to the nation as a dynamic broadcast duo at last year's Winter Olympics in Sochi. With NBC back on the national stage, it only made sense to bring Johnny and Tara back with them.

Lipinski and Weir will be taping their spots from a tailgate party where they will be interviewing celebrities and providing their own analysis of the Super Bowl. The two will provide commentary in between other segments and are expected to be seen most prominently during the first three hours of the show.
