After stepping up to fill in for the Denver Broncos, the Baltimore Ravens will man the sidelines for Team Carter during the Pro Bowl on Sunday. John Harbaugh and staff will work with alumni captain Cris Carter when they face off against the Dallas Cowboys’ coaching staff and their Hall of Fame alumni captain, Michael Irvin.
Pro Bowl 2015, Team Carter coaches: John Harbaugh, Ravens staff get the nod
In the wake of the Broncos’ major shakeup on the sidelines, the Ravens will serve as coaches for Team Carter during the NFL’s annual showcase.
The Broncos, who had the best record of teams eliminated in the Divisional round, were originally slated to coach one team until John Fox mutually parted ways with Denver following the postseason loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Now John Harbaugh will lead the group, and he’ll have two Ravens on Team Carter: running back Justin Forsett and inside linebacker C.J. Mosley. Assistant Craig Ver Steeg and quarterbacks coach Rick Dennison will call the plays in the absence of Gary Kubiak, who took the position as Denver’s next head coach. Brian Pariani will also be on the sidelines for the Pro Bowl before both he and Dennison depart for the Mile High City to join Kubiak’s staff.
Baltimore finished third in the AFC North division with a 10-6 record, earning the Wild Card playoff spot in the process. It ranked fourth in rushing defense with 88.2 yards per game allowed and 12th in total offense.
With defense as the team’s strength, the Ravens’ staff will now have the unenviable task of trying to keep a Pro Bowl offense from scoring in a game where defense is generally frowned upon.
