Super Bowl 2015: Brandon Browner tells Patriots teammates to break Richard Sherman’s arm

The Patriots corner had to sit out of the Super Bowl last year when he was with the Seahawks.

Brandon Browner may still be friends with many of his ex-Seahawks teammates. However, the New England Patriots corner says he'll do whatever it takes to beat them in Super Bowl XLIX, including breaking the arm of Richard Sherman, he told ESPN via Lehigh Valley Live.

Browner spent three years in Seattle as part of a very successful Seahawks defense. He paired with Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor and Sherman to form what has since been dubbed the "Legion of Boom." But when the Seahawks reached the Super Bowl last season, Browner wasn't on the field with them. Instead, he was serving a suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Although he received a ring, Browner wants to earn one while actually playing.

That means beating his teammates and friends who are still with Seattle, but that doesn’t seem to bother Browner. In fact, he wants his Patriots teammates to target the injured limb of one of his best friends in football, Richard Sherman.

“I’m going to tell my teammates, ‘Go hit that elbow, go hit that shoulder,’” Browner said. “Try to break it if you can.”

Sherman injured his arm during the NFC Championship against the Green Bay Packers. Though Sherman played through the pain, it was clear from the way he held his arm to his body as if in an invisible sling that the injury impacted his play. Sherman, however, is not expected to miss the Super Bowl.

Likewise, Browner wants his teammates to get physical with Thomas, who hurt his shoulder against the Packers.

“You are going to be my best friend at the end of the day,” Browner said of Sherman and Thomas. “But I know you want the Super Bowl just as bad as I do.”

Whether Browner gets any of his wishes remains to be seen.
