Missy Elliott will be joining Katy Perry during the Super Bowl halftime show, according to the Associated Press.

The rapper/singer will join Perry during the entertainment portion of the big game.

We already knew that Perry would be joined by Lenny Kravitz and another surprise guest, and Perry hinted earlier Thursday that she would bring a “throwback” female musician with her on stage. Although there’s no official word, the AP reports that additional guest is Elliott.
It’s somewhat of an intriguing selection. Perry and Elliott have, well, close to nothing in common musically, so perhaps Perry will take a backseat to Elliott for a few minutes.
I think that adding Elliott to the halftime show is worth it, and I’m glad she’s been given the opportunity to Work It. I’m glad the rap diva will be able to Get Her Freak On. My one concern is that featured performer Perry might Let It Go and Lose Control of the show after handing off to another dynamic female performer, but I think the two will be able to provide a solid 1-2 Step. I wonder what the Gossip Folks will have to say about this? The 2015 Super Bowl halftime show is in Arizona, so Elliott won’t have to worry about The Rain ...
