Super Bowl 2015 international broadcasts: How to watch Patriots-Seahawks abroad

Regardless of where you are in the world, if you’re around a television or a computer, chances are you can watch Super Bowl 49.

Super Bowl 49 is almost here, with the New England Patriots set to take on the Seattle Seahawks for the Lombardi Trophy. Seattle is trying to become the first team to repeat since the Patriots did it a decade ago, and the Patriots are looking to build on an already impressive dynasty.

Both teams were the top seeds in their respective conferences, going through the best teams to get to this point. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are looking for their fourth Super Bowl ring together, and Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll are just getting what they hope will be a similar dynasty started.

The game is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 1. It will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. This year’s halftime show will be performed by pop star Katy Perry, accompanied by Lenny Kravitz. The halftime shows have been pretty solid in recent memory, with Beyonce in 2013 and Bruno Mars in 2014 getting positive receptions.

This year, Perry is expected to have a special guest, though all we know at this point is that she’s hinted that the guest will be female. The pre-game national anthem will be sung by Idina Menzel, while John Legend will sing “America The Beautiful.”

The television broadcast will be carried on NBC, with Cris Collinsworth and Al Michaels on commentary. Those hoping to watch online will be able to do so with NFL Mobile or at NBC Sports. There will be extensive pregame coverage all over the place. NFL Network begins their coverage at 7 a.m., with NFL GameDay First and NFL GameDay Morning, which will take them to 5:30 p.m.

The official pregame show for NBC gets underway at 1 p.m. and will run up until game time. The pregame show will include an interview of President Barack Obama by Savannah Guthrie, something of a recent tradition in advance of the Super Bowl. That should air around 4 p.m.

But if you’re hoping to watch the game internationally, you’ll have to take into account the fact that the broadcast rights for the Super Bowl vary country to country. Fortunately, the channels that you’d expect to have the game are generally the ones carrying it. In the UK and Ireland, Channel 4 and Sky Sports will broadcast the game, for instance.

Other top networks around the world, like Canal+, BeIN Sport and OSN Sports are carrying the coverage. You can view a pretty thorough list of international broadcasters for this year’s game here.
