The Cincinnati Bengals may not be buying into their own hype, but it's difficult to see them falling to the Buffalo Bills Sunday.
NFL picks and predictions, Bengals vs. Bills 2015: Cincinnati expected to continue undefeated season
The undefeated Bengals are poised to continue their hot start with a win at Buffalo Sunday.
The Bengals enjoyed perhaps their most impressive win of the season last week against Seattle, coming back from a 17-point second-half deficit. Andy Dalton was phenomenal, completing 30 of 44 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns. Arguably the biggest difference between the Dalton of this year and season's past is his poise, and he showed that in Week 5.
Dalton is off to the best start of his career, completing 67.5 percent of his passes for 1,158 yards with 11 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Cincinnati has the second-best offense in the league, just narrowly behind the New England Patriots.
The Bills defense has surprisingly been mediocre this year under Rex Ryan, coming in at 16th in the league. They did hold the Titans to 13 points last week, but then again, it was the Titans. Stopping Dalton, A.J. Green and emerging tight end Tyler Eifert promises to be a lot more challenging.
But containing the Bengals' potent offensive attack may not even be the biggest obstacle the Bills face Sunday. Buffalo might be without starting QB Tyrod Taylor, who reportedly suffered an MCL sprain as the result of a horse-collar tackle against the Titans last week. If Taylor is unable to play, EJ Manuel would likely get the start at quarterback.
Losing Taylor would be another blow to the Bills offense, which has been decimated by injuries so far this season. Running back LeSean McCoy has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury, and his backup, Karlos Williams, missed last week's contest with a concussion. Second-year wideout Sammy Watkins has been out of the lineup with a calf injury as well, though he expects to play Sunday.
Given all of their injury questions, the Bills will have an uphill climb against the undefeated Bengals this week. Six of our eight experts say the Bengals will be victorious, and seven of CBS’ eight analysts are picking Cincinnati, too.
