Sean Payton is reportedly willing to listen to suitors for another head coaching position in the NFL, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Payton currently has two years left on his five-year contract with the New Orleans Saints.
Sean Payton reportedly open to other head coaching opportunities
Sean Payton would be highly prized on the open coaching market, but currently has two years left on a rich five-year contract with the Saints.

Last month, an ESPN report suggested that Payton may be placed on the trading block after the 2015 season, with the Miami Dolphins being the most interested partner with the Saints. The Dolphins fired Joe Philbin after a 1-3 start, replacing him with tight ends coach Dan Campbell on an interim basis.
If the Saints don’t pursue a trade, Payton also has the option to take matters into his own hands. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Payton has a “change of control” clause in his contract. If he wanted to be a free agent at the end of the season, the Saints would reportedly be inclined to let him out of his deal.
Payton's resume would make him a prized commodity on an open market. He has a career 81-52 overall record and a 6-4 record in the playoffs, including a Super Bowl win over the Indianapolis Colts following the 2009 season. The Saints are currently riding a three-game winning streak and have evened up their record at 4-4.
