Steve Smith wasn’t supposed to play, but he’s out there making diving touchdown catches

“To be honest, my expectation of playing is very low.”

That was Steve Smith on Friday, talking to reporters about his chances of playing Sunday against San Francisco. Smith injured his back in Week 4 and reportedly struggled in practice leading up to Week 6. Two days before the game it seemed likely he’d miss a second straight game. He didn’t.

Not only did he suit up for Baltimore, but he’s out there making plays like this.

Those 49ers defenders certainly couldn’t tell Smith was playing with an injured back. He was also healthy enough to celebrate the touchdown properly.

Steve Smith forever.
