The super blood moon eclipse wasn't the only rarity that occurred last week: a wide receiver on the Kansas City Chiefs actually scored a touchdown.
NFL picks and predictions, Chiefs vs. Bengals 2015: The Bengals should improve to 4-0
The reeling Chiefs are running into a Bengals team that has a lot to prove.
Jeremy Maclin was the first Chiefs wideout to find the end zone since 2013 when he caught a 5-yard screen pass from Alex Smith with 56 seconds left in the third quarter Monday night. But it wasn't nearly enough to propel the Chiefs over the Packers, who came away with the 38-28 victory.
The game wasn't as close as the final score would indicate, however, as the Packers held a 31-14 lead entering the fourth quarter. Aaron Rodgers lit up the Chiefs' defense, throwing for five touchdown passes.
That bodes well for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, who's coming off an impressive performance of his own against the Baltimore Ravens. Dalton went 20 of 32 for 383 yards and three touchdown passes in the Bengals' 28-24 victory. The Ravens didn't have an answer for A.J. Green, who caught 10 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns.
Rookie cornerback Marcus Peters may be matched up with Green at times Sunday, which should be fun to watch. If the Chiefs have any hope of winning on the road, they'll probably have to keep this a low-scoring affair -- Alex Smith leads a feeble offensive attack that struggles to move the ball down the field. Jamaal Charles will look to rebound after a game-losing fumble in Week 2 and rough performance in Week 3 in which he failed to break the 50-yard marker on 11 carries.
The Bengals are 3-0 for the second consecutive season, but are hoping this year holds a different fate. Several members of Cincinnati's core are in the final years of their contracts, including Leon Hall, Reggie Nelson, George Iloka, Andre Smith and Andrew Whitworth. It appears to be now or never for head coach Marvin Lewis, who's winless in six career postseason games.
It’s unanimous at ESPN, where all 13 analysts are picking the home team. The CBS Sports panel is all-in on the Bengals as well.
Our SB Nation team is mostly in agreement. Only Joel Thorman keeps it from being a clean sweep for Cincinnati.
