Eagles vs. Washington 2015 picks and predictions: Philadelphia the favorite in NFC East matchup

Fresh off their first win of the season, the Eagles are expected to pick up win No. 2 Sunday.

The NFC East is completely up for grabs and two teams fighting for the division will face off Sunday at FedEx Field, where Washington will host the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams are 1-2, though the Eagles are coming off a 24-17 road win over the Jets while Washington is looking to recover from a 32-21 road loss to the Giants.

But despite finally winning a game in Week 3, the Eagles offense remains one of the biggest disappointments of the early season. Sam Bradford, handpicked in the offseason by Chip Kelly to run his offense, has thrown more interceptions (four) than touchdowns (three) and is completing just 61 percent of his passes despite averaging just 5.8 yards per attempt.

The good news for the Eagles is that the running game did seem to find new life in Week 3 by riding the legs of Ryan Mathews, who started in place of the injured DeMarco Murray. Mathews ran for 108 yards on 25 carries. Still, the Eagles have just two plays of 25 yards or more so far this year -- tied for last in the league.

On the other hand, Washington hasn't been much better, with only four plays of 25 or more. Quarterback Kirk Cousins, who earned the starting job over Robert Griffin III, has also thrown more interceptions (four) than touchdowns (three) and has a quarterback rating of 81.3. Not helping matters is that one of his top targets, former Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, is still day to day with a hamstring injury that he suffered during Week 1.

There’s still the threat of heavy rainfall due to Hurricane Joaquin, but at least for now, the game is expected to be played. And most of the experts are expecting the road team to come out on top.

At ESPN, the Eagles are the pick by a 9-4 margin while only one member of the CBS Sports panel is taking the home team.

Here at SB Nation, Philadelphia is the favorite, but PFT Commenter is sticking by Kirk Cousins, as is OddsShark.
