Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley doesn't appear to be on the hot seat, despite a disappointing 1-5 start for the Jaguars. On Saturday morning, Jaguars owner Shad Khan spoke to reporters and assured them that a mid-season firing isn't on the way for the team.
Jaguars owner says firing Gus Bradley ‘has never crossed his mind’
Despite a 1-5 start to the 2015 season, Jaguars owner Shad Khan says it wouldn’t be sane to fire head coach Gus Bradley.

Instead he said anything besides allowing Bradley to finish the 2015 season would be irrational and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports the coach is likely safe for next season too.
“It’s the only sane and proper thing to do,” Khan said to reporters, including Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union. “It has never crossed my mind (to fire him).”
Bradley was hired prior to the 2013 season with a long leash while the team needed to undergo a full-scale rebuilding. After a 4-12 record in his first season, the Jaguars took a step back with a 3-13 season in 2014. Prior to the 2015 season, Bradley told fans that the team was properly built to perennially contend for the AFC South crown (via @MadeByTim).
— gold city tim (@MadeByTim) October 14, 2015 After starting the season 1-1, the Jaguars have dropped five straight games, although Khan told reporters that the team should’ve been able to manage much more wins:
"Look at the last three games," Khan said. "We should have won. But what do you do going forward? It's very important we don't become a victim of status quo."
Bradley's 8-30 record since taking over as head coach of the Jaguars is among some of the worst head coaching records in NFL history. In the last 50 years, only the matching 10-38 records of Rod Marinelli and Steve Spagnuolo are worse percentages in more games. A loss in Week 7 to the Buffalo Bills would make Bradley's the worst record for any coach in the last 50 years with more than 35 games coached.
Still, Khan said he wants to be patient before making any decisions regarding Bradley and Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell.
“Believe me, they want to have success more than any of us do,” Khan said of Bradley and Caldwell. “They’re highly motivated. I think they’re really disappointed we’re not having the success we should (be having). We have to see how the season unfolds. There is more than half the season out there and then we’ll be able to see what’s been done.”
The Jaguars are No. 30 in points scored and points allowed, but No. 16 in total offense and No. 19 in total defense. The Bills are 4.5-point favorites over the Jaguars in a game that will be played at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday.
