Coming off their first loss of the season, the Atlanta Falcons face another road test against the 1-4 Tennessee Titans in Week 7. Both teams are used to having fourth-quarter difficulties and are hoping to create enough of a lead early on to avoid any surprises late in the game.

Both the Falcons and Titans are hoping to overcome their fourth-quarter deficiencies in Week 7.
The Titans will be without Marcus Mariota under center. In Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins, Mariota was under constant pressure and suffered a sprained MCL, causing him to miss this week's game. Former starter Zach Mettenberger will take the snaps for the Titans, returning to the role he held in 2014.
With one of the best offenses in the league, quarterback Matt Ryan's performance, while inconsistent, has the luxury of Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones to make up for anything he lacks. Freeman is having a breakout season -- he's rushed 106 times for 505 yards and nine touchdowns in addition to 32 receptions for 296 yards and one touchdown. Jones is also putting together an incredible season with 49 receptions for 638 yards and four touchdowns.
Despite having some of the most productive offensive targets in the NFL, the team has had issues with ball security, losing three fumbles and a blocked punt against the New Orleans Saints that was returned for a touchdown. If the offense can work on eliminating turnovers, the improved defense under new head coach Dan Quinn should help keep the Falcons in any game this year.
The Falcons have one of the better rushing defenses in the league but struggle against the pass, allowing an average of 290.7 yards per game. Still, the secondary has accounted for six interceptions and has forced several turnovers to clinch wins late in the fourth quarter.
The Titans' offensive line has allowed 19 sacks already this season, contributing to the problems on that side of the ball. Without consistent blocking, the run game has slowed and the quarterback has had less time to set up long passes. These issues have stalled the young offense, but there's still hope -- two of their four losses have come by a total of three points. And although promising rookie David Cobb has been on short-term injured reserve, the running back returned to practice this week and could be moved to the active roster in a couple of weeks.
Defense has been an issue for Tennessee as well, and last week it had a miserable time trying to stop the run against Miami. Dolphins running back Lamar Miller rushed 19 times for 113 yards and a touchdown, by far his best outing of the season. Linebacker Wesley Woodyard added a good dose of expertise to the line, however, filling up the stat sheet with 10 tackles and one sack.
Both of these teams have struggled in the fourth quarter and are hoping to stop the trend in Week 7. If the Falcons want to be Super Bowl contenders, they need to ensure consistency through all four quarters. That starts against the Titans.
