New England Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell is officially active for the team’s Week 7 game against the New York Jets. LaFell is making his season debut after starting the year on the PUP, and according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the veteran is expected to play for at least half of the team’s offensive snaps.
Brandon LaFell will make his season debut in Week 7 vs. Jets
The Patriots veteran is making his first appearance of 2015 after starting the season on the PUP list.

LaFell suffered a foot injury in the preseason and was placed on the reserve/PUP list, forcing him to miss the first six games of the season. He practiced this week and was activated to the 53-man roster on Saturday, all but ensuring that he’s ready to play.
The 28-year-old LaFell was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. After four underwhelming seasons in Charlotte, LaFell signed with the Patriots in 2014. He developed a quick bond with Tom Brady and went on to have a career year, grabbing 74 catches for 953 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Patriots’ offense has been clicking just fine without LaFell, but his return would be welcome in a receiver corps still lacking a credible outside threat. LaFell will have a tough matchup on his season debut, going up against the imposing duo of Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie in the secondary.
