The Miami Dolphins finally seemed to be clicking and the timing couldn’t be better. On Thursday night, they face their toughest test this season against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Can Ndamukong Suh’s reemergence ruin Tom Brady’s undefeated season?

Almost halfway through the season, $114 million defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, finally showed why he was worth such a big contract. Before Week 7, Suh failed to even get a sack, but that all changed against the Texans. He recorded two sacks, six tackles -- three for loss -- and had two deflected passes.
The extra help on defense was a big reason for the Dolphins’ 44-26 victory last week, but the team’s new two-tight end approach also helped drive the offense down the field. Under interim head coach Dan Campbell’s new scheme, quarterback Ryan Tannehill had success down the field and in the red zone with screen passes to tight ends Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims.
The Patriots’ defense was able to stop a mediocre Jets offense last week, and could use veteran expertise to stop the Dolphins’ newly adopted scheme. Outside linebacker Rob Ninkovich was able to deflect four of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s passes, three of which were in the first quarter.
Without Tom Brady under center, the Patriots might not be 6-0 this season. Last week against the Jets, Brady accounted for all but one of the offense’s 353 yards. He even led the team in rushing with 15 yards after running backs James White (4 yards) and LeGarrette Blount (-3 yards) weren’t able to create any openings against one of the best defensive lines in the league.
This matchup could come down to whether Miami’s defense can stop the Patriots’ passing game, but if the Dolphins look like they did against Houston, Tom Brady could be in a load of trouble.
