The NFL has suspended former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle for four games without pay for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The suspension serves as punishment for an offseason incident involving police.
Joseph Randle suspended 4 games for violating NFL’s personal conduct policy
The former Cowboys running back was arrested in February for unlawful possession of marijuana and allegedly threatened the mother of his son with a gun.

In February Randle was arrested in Wichita, Kan., for unlawful possession of marijuana. According to the police report, authorities received a call from the mother of Randle’s son, who said that Randle broke a car window during an argument and threatened her and her son with a gun.
In April, the charges against Randle were dropped, but the NFL met with Randle over the summer to determine if he had violated the league’s personal conduct policy.
Last month, Randle called police and asked them to check in on his girlfriend at his house because he was paranoid, but no wrongdoing was found. According to Rapoport, Randle was emotional at the Cowboys facility and the team was concerned about the mental state of the running back.
That was the second time in four months that Randle had been arrested, which no doubt contributed to league’s decision to hand down punishment. Last October, he was arrested for shoplifting underwear and cologne.
Randle, 23, was taken by the Cowboys out of Oklahoma State in the fifth round of the 2013 draft. He was named the team’s starter this season and ran for 315 yards on 76 carries. However, the team transitioned to Darren McFadden as the lead back over its Week 6 bye and released Randle shortly thereafter.
