Cowboys vs. Saints 2015 odds: Winless New Orleans Week 4 betting favorite

The New Orleans Saints will try to snap their home losing streak as favorites hosting the battered up Dallas Cowboys this Sunday night.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints are 0-6 straight up and against the spread in their last six games at home. The once proud home team will attempt to end the losing streak with a win on Sunday night at home against the Dallas Cowboys.

New Orleans is a 3-point home favorite, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Saints have been favored in every game of their current six-game home losing streak.

With the late-week announcement that Drew Brees would play this Sunday night, New Orleans opened as a favorite over the Cowboys. Luke McCown led the Saints to their first cover of the season last week as a 10-point underdog against the Carolina Panthers, but the Saints still fell to 0-3 SU after suffering their second straight loss to a divisional opponent.

The usually explosive Saints offense is averaging just 20 points per game while the defense is surrendering 28 points per game.

Historically, the Saints have fared well against the Dallas Cowboys. New Orleans is 9-2 SU and 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games against the Cowboys, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Last Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons was a tale of two halves for the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas jumped out to a 28-17 lead at the half, fueled by a solid relief performance from Brandon Weeden and three rushing touchdowns from Joseph Randle. But the second half was all Atlanta as Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman led the Falcons to a 39-28 road win.

With the loss, Dallas fell to 2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS on the season. The Cowboys return to the road on Sunday night where they are 8-1 SU and ATS over their last nine games.

Sunday night’s total is currently set at 47 points. The OVER is 6-2 in Dallas’s last eight road games and 5-1 in New Orleans’ last six games played in October.

Even without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, the Cowboys offense played well enough last week to suggest that it will be good enough to keep Dallas in games. With the way that the Saints are struggling on both sides of the ball, points are hard to pass up on with the Cowboys at +3 on the road.
