Dez Bryant is back after foot surgery cost him five games.

Bryant suffered a fractured bone in his foot in the regular season opener that required surgery. Owner Jerry Jones initially expected Bryant to return in 4-6 weeks, although some reports said that he would be out for 8-12. Nonetheless, Bryant is back after practicing on a limited basis throughout the week and being listed as questionable on Friday.
Bryant's return will be a massive boost to a Cowboys offense that has stagnated with both him and quarterback Tony Romo out. Romo suffered a broken collarbone and was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list, so he's not eligible to come back until at least Week 11. Brandon Weeden started three games in Romo's absence, but was benched for Matt Cassel after the Cowboys' Week 6 bye.
Things went about as poorly as they could have for Cassel's debut. He completed 17 of 27 passes for 227 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions. The Cowboys were playing very well on defense, but the mistakes on offense were enough to sink them against the rival New York Giants.
Cassel will remain the starter for the Cowboys and he’ll be more than happy to have a difference maker like Bryant back, although he faces a tough challenge in his return against Richard Sherman and is expected to receive limited snaps. Bryant racked up 88 catches for 1,320 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, and has gone three straight seasons with 10 or more scores.
