The battle of Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers will draw eyes, but it’s the No. 1 defense of the Broncos that will have to be the stars on Sunday night for Denver.
While the Packers have cruised to their undefeated record, the Broncos have scraped by despite poor play from Peyton Manning. Both teams are dominating their divisions anyway, and you can watch two of the best quarterbacks of the last decade duel on NBC Sports for the chance at a 7-0 record.
Rodgers has certainly been the better of the two quarterbacks lately, with 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions in 2015. He has posted a quarterback rating over 100 for the last six seasons and has a 115.9 rating this season, but faces the formidable Broncos defense. No team has been tougher against the pass -- opponents have a 66.4 rating against the Denver secondary.
The Packers haven’t been as dominant as the Broncos defense, but have only allowed 101 points in six games, the NFL’s lowest mark. Manning has struggled to approach prolific numbers like in years past, and the 14-time Pro Bowl quarterback has thrown an NFL-leading 10 interceptions with at least one in every week.
But for all the turnovers, the defense has managed to force even more. Denver has been on the receiving end of 17 turnovers in six games, the NFL's highest mark, and eked out close victories over the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns with 11 turnovers in those three games.
The Packers have just four turnovers all season, though If the Broncos’ offense isn’t able to get things going and put pressure on Green Bay, the Denver defense may have a tough time providing the wealth of opportunities that dragged the team to a 6-0 start.
