When the 2015 NFL schedule was first released, the Baltimore Ravens probably couldn't imagine they would have the same number of wins as the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars heading into their Week 10 matchup. But that's where the Ravens stand, and they must now probably win out if they're going to even have a chance at sniffing the playoffs.
Jaguars vs. Ravens 2015 picks and predictions: Experts think Baltimore will pull away
If the Ravens even want to sniff the playoffs this season, they will probably have to win out.
Joe Flacco will take the field with an injury-ravaged receiving corps, which will be without veteran wideout Steve Smith Sr. for the rest of the season. Smith tore his Achilles two weeks ago during the club's win over the San Diego Chargers. The 36-year-old veteran caught 46 passes for 670 yards this year.
With Smith out of the picture, it's undetermined who Flacco's No. 1 target will be. He doesn't appear to have many appetizing options, as Kamar Aiken, Chris Givens, Marlon Brown and Jeremy Ross are the other main active receivers on the roster.
Fortunately for the Ravens, the Jaguars are arguably the worst road team in the NFL. Jacksonville hasn’t won a road game since Dec. 1, 2013, which is the longest such losing streak in the league.
Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles continues to be inconsistent in his sophomore season. Although he's thrown for nearly 2,200 yards and 17 touchdowns, he's only completed 56.3 percent of his passes and thrown 10 interceptions. Jacksonville has 10 turnovers in its last 10 games.
Despite those ugly numbers, the Jaguars do have some playmakers on offense. Running back T.J. Yeldon has averaged more than 5 yards per carry over the last two games and wideout Allen Hurns has recorded a touchdown catch in six straight contests. Hurns promises to be a tough matchup for the Ravens, who have the fourth-worst pass defense in the league.
Though this game may be close, five of our seven experts at SB Nation expect the Ravens to pull away. Six of CBS’s eight prognosticators agree, while it’s 10-3 in favor of Baltimore at ESPN.
