The Chicago Bears will be without running back Matt Forte another week -- the veteran is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 10 game against the St. Louis Rams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter who said Forte didn't even travel with the team. Forte is sitting out his second straight game with a knee injury. Jeremy Langford will get another start in his place.
Matt Forte misses 2nd straight game with knee injury
Jeremy Langford will get the start once again.

Forte suffered the injury during Chicago's Week 8 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He got in limited practices this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report, but Forte couldn't get healthy in time to suit up. He later revealed that he has a sprained MCL, typically a multi-week injury. He will now look to return for a Week 11 bout with the Denver Broncos.
The news that Forte didn’t travel with the team raised some eyebrows and the NFL will reportedly look into it. With Forte listed as questionable, there was supposed to be a 50-50 chance that he would be ruled active on Sunday, but the team didn’t have him in their plans if he didn’t travel with the team.
On Saturday, #Bears did not make public that Matt Forte & others did not travel & were out. @NFLfootballinfo says @NFL is looking into it
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 15, 2015 While the Bears didn’t make the news public that Forte and other players, like Pernell McPhee, didn’t make the trip, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network says that the Rams were made aware, although the media is supposed to be informed as well.
Before the injury, the 29-year-old Forte was playing at his usual high level, rushing for 548 yards and two touchdowns in seven games. He also added 25 catches for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Langford replaced Forte last week and was impressive, racking up 142 total yards and a touchdown on 21 touches against the San Diego Chargers. He will have a much tougher matchup in the Rams defense, which is 13th in the league in rushing yards allowed per game. The Bears offense continues to be hobbled by injuries, with receiver Alshon Jeffery nursing a groin ailment.
