The St. Louis Rams have made a quarterback change and will start Case Keenum when they play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, head coach Jeff Fisher announced on Monday. Nick Foles has made every start thus far this year and has led the Rams to a 4-5 record, which puts them at second place in the NFC West.

But even with running back Todd Gurley breaking out and becoming the offensive focus of the team, Foles has not done enough on the field to remain the starter. Foles has completed 56.6 percent of his passes for 1,678 yards with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. In a losing effort against the Chicago Bears in his last game, Foles completed just 47.2 percent of his passes and threw a pick.
He hasn’t thrown a touchdown in St. Louis’ last two games. Fisher said Monday that he’s hoping Keenum can be an “offensive spark” for the Rams.
Keenum has been in the NFL since 2012, when he went undrafted. He's played in 10 games with the Houston Texans and has a career completion rate of 55.2 percent. He threw nine touchdowns and six interceptions in eight games with Houston in 2013, and threw two touchdowns and two picks in two games last season.
He has not attempted a regular season pass with the Rams. He joined the team this offseason.
Foles was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, who received QB Sam Bradford from St. Louis. Both quarterbacks have started for their new teams this year but have struggled. The Eagles are also sitting at 4-5 and Bradford, who has a lengthy injury history, left the Week 10 game with a shoulder injury and concussion. He's expected to miss at least one game.
Foles signed a two-year contract extension before the regular season arrived as the Rams were confident he was their guy. That deal included $14 million guaranteed.
