The Chicago Bears have made running back Matt Forte inactive for their Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos. Forte will be missing his third straight game as he recovers from a sprained MCL.
Matt Forte ruled out for Week 11 vs. Broncos
Jeremy Langford will get the start for the third game in a row.

Forte suffered the injury in Week 8 and hasn’t played since then. He returned to a limited practice this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. The Bears play on Thanksgiving this week, so it’s possible they simply wanted to give Forte some extra rest before the short turnaround. Forte has rushed for 548 yards and two touchdowns in seven games this season, averaging 4.0 yards per carry. He also has 25 catches for 219 yards and an additional touchdown.
Rookie Jeremy Langford will get another start in Forte's place. Langford has been impressive in relief duty -- last week he gashed the St. Louis Rams defense for 182 total yards and two touchdowns on 27 touches.
Langford is playing well enough that the Bears likely don’t feel a need to rush back the 29-year-old Forte, even as they sit on the cusp of playoff contention at 4-5. Forte revealed earlier this week that he’d be open to sharing the workload with Langford when he comes back.
